Saiyan Saga

        A Saiyan space fighter arrives on Earth and claims that he has come to "take Goku back into the fold." Raditz says that Goku, whose real name is Kakarot, is his younger brother. He was sent here as a child to prepare Earth for sale, meaning to kill all life on her. Raditz then takes Goku's four-year-old son, Gohan, as insurance that Goku will kill one hundred humans by the next day. Knowing that if something is not done Raditz will destroy Earth, Piccolo and Goku form a temporary alliance and decide to fight together against him. The battle is eventually won by Goku and Piccolo. But Goku dies while holding Raditz still when Piccolo shots his Special Beam Cannon (Light of Death) attack at the evil warrior. Before he dies, however, Raditz tells Piccolo that two Saiyans even stronger than he is will be coming to Earth in one years time anyway to find the Dragon Balls. It didn't matter that they had won the fight against Raditz, not in light of the fact that they were going to face the greatest challenge of their lives when they battle the two Saiyans; Vegeta and Nappa.
       At the end of a year, the Saiyans arrive. The Z Warriors have all prepared. Goku has traveled to King Kai's planet (in the Other World) to seek special training. Piccolo has trained himself further as well as Gohan, who has a great power hidden within him. Krillen, Yamcha, Tien, Choazu, and Yajirobe have all received training from Kami. However, all of their preparation was in vain.The Saiyans proved powerful. Yamcha, Tien, Choazu, and Piccolo all perished during the battle. Krillen and Gohan were all that was left of the Z Warriors when Goku arrived. Goku had improved so much from his training that he easily beat Nappa. Knowing that Nappa was no longer any use to him, Vegeta killed his partner.
        Vegeta and Goku square off as the last two Saiyans alive. Vegeta and Goku beat each other so badly that at the end of it all neither of them was able to move much. Vegeta slowly crawled to his spaceship to escape when he was met with Krillen. But before Krillen could kill Vegeta, Goku stopped him. So Vegeta went on his way and the Z Warriors were picked up by their loved ones in a plane. Piccolo was dead, therefore the Dragon Balls were gone. It would seem that they would now have to live their lives without the presence of their most dear.
